Art Clay Silver

Introduction to art clay silver

A one day course for the beginner introducing basic techniques of handling, shaping and forming the clay and paste; drying and firing it. It can be taken even if you have no previous knowledge of the material.  At the end of the day you will have a finished  pendant or pair of earrings to take home

10am to 3pm or 11am to 4pm (inc lunch break)

Making a ring in Art clay silver

This is an intermediate course for those who have a small amount of experience in using art clay silver, perhaps having taken part in a fun day or introductory course already. 

You will learn about the shrinkage  and how to measure and make a ring to fit.  You will shape the clay around a mandrel before drying it and adding texture or perhaps a small stone.  You will learn how to fire the piece properly supported in the kiln and about firing times and temperatures.

10am to 3pm or 11am to 4pm (inc lunch break) £ 80 per person

Includes 7g of art clay silver and a small stone for setting,

use of tools and equipment

Bead making in art clay silver

This is an intermediate course for those who have a small amount of experience in using art clay silver, perhaps having taken part in a fun day or introductory course already. 

You will learn about the shrinkage  and how to shape the clay around a mandrel or a supporting form before drying it and adding texture.  You will learn how to fire the piece properly supported in the kiln and about firing times and temperatures.  the beads will then be finished and polished so that you can start your own unique collection of charms.



 

10am to 4pm (inc lunch break) £ 90 per person

Art clay silver Level 1 certification course

This is a more in depth course over four days for those with some experience in Art Clay Silver.  It can lead to assessment by the Art Clay World UK Guild who award the certificate enabling you to progress to Level 2, the teaching certificate.  For this course you will work on specific set projects.

10am to 4pm (inc lunch break)

£380 per person

Art clay Level 2 certification course

An advanced course over four days for those with Level 1 certificate in Art Clay.  It can lead to assessment by the Art Clay World UK Guild who award the certificate.  For this course you will work on specific set projects, including a project using art clay gold.  Please email or telephone for available dates and current prices

Art clay silver and enamelling

This is a more specialised One day course, for those with some experience in using art clay silver.  You will be introduced to the “wet laying” technique of enamelling and make a small piece in art clay silver, firing  then apply  layers of transparent and coloured enamels and firing in the kiln.  At the end of the day you will have enamelled a small piece that can be made into jewellery to take home

10am to 3pm or 11am to 4pm (inc lunch break)

use of tools and equipment

Silver celebration

(for a small group of 5 or 6 people)

A special half day workshop with a chance to make a unique gift, either for yourself or with friends as a celebration to mark a special event.  Using basic techniques, shaping and firing the clay, at the end of the session you will have a finished silver charm or pendant to take home

£ 55 per person
